Matariki Poem
Seven sisters glistening in the sky looking so bright you could only see them with a naked eye.
Eight brothers watch upon us as we live and cherish one another.
Whanau singing waiata as they respect the maori new year.
Aunties weaving kete for the yummy kai.
Kites taking over the afternoon sky..
Kids playing traditional string games.
Knuckle bones pounding on the ground.
Everyone having fun spending time with loved ones.
This week it is matariki and this is what room 19 had to do for writing today. I had heaps of fun doing this.
